I get questions from readers. Is this recent? Yes! KB Home houses are still leaking despite the Florida Attorney General settlement that ended with payout in 2018. I get reports on new houses leaking and warranty issues from all over the country. Texas, Florida, and California mostly. Doing a search on Florida Counties – starting in Duval (Jacksonville) I found all these lawsuits filed this year. I found pages of suits filed in 2017. I can’t print them all . 2018 and suits are till being filed. I’ll check other counties. It is labor intensive but will keep you posted – for anyone who thinks this is a thing of the past – it is still going on,

How would you like to buy a brand new home, find it leaks, find you can’t get it fixed, then spend the next decade of your life fighting in court? What do you think this does to the quality your life? It makes it pure misery. I don’t know how KB Home stays in business. But this is their business model. They must save so much money cutting corners and know that most people will never take legal action that it pays to operate like this where you are continuously in court. And they are notorious for keeping these cases open for years. They build them so fast and do what ever it takes to sell them (don’t forget the Florida Attorney General recently found them guilty of deceptive and unfair business practices). And don’t forget the DOJ filed a suit for a nationwide appraisal fraud scheme – this is how they sell them in mass, and make enough to cover all these lawsuits. Most people don’t sue. They walk away. They give up. We had a 70% default rate in this neighborhood.
